South American hacking group Lapsus$ is claiming obligation for another prominent hack. On Thursday, Ubisoft stated it went through a “cyber security incident” recently that saw some of its systems, services and games momentarily disrupted. At the time, the company didnt identify who may have been accountable for the occurrence, but just one day later, Lapsus$ started to apparently take credit.

After The Verge released a story on the incident, a Telegram channel apparently run by the group posted a link to the post and a smirking face emoji, suggesting it was claiming responsibility for what had actually happened. It also stated that it had not targeted user information in the breach.
” Our IT groups are dealing with leading external specialists to examine the issue,” Ubisoft stated Thursday. “We can validate that all our services and games are operating typically and that at this time there is no evidence any gamer personal details was accessed or exposed as a spin-off of this incident.”
Fridays claim comes less than a week after the same group took credit for getting about 190GB of information from Samsung.
