A lot of people install their Television over the fireplace, but I never suggest it. Well, if youre only preparing to view TV sometimes, then its probably fine. If its the main Television youre going to view for hours every day, its not a fantastic concept.

This will not be a problem for everyone. If you do not, or cant, utilize your fireplace, then this wont be an issue. A gas fireplace may not have soot, however if the wall above is warm to the touch, that heat is going to warm your TV too.
