When I viewed the trailer for Do Revenge last month, the Netflix teenager movie instantly had me covered around a perfectly manicured finger.The clip teased black comedy, a dream-like, pastel world and women too cool to care about right grammar. When the time came for me to really view Do Revenge, I discovered the candy-colored movie disappointingly dull. The references to timeless teen films make parts feel repetitive.

The soundtrack fit the state of mind perfectly, filling the area with Olivia Rodrigo bangers and Billie Eilish ballads that will satisfy for teenage (or young person) masses. What it chooses to fill its thoroughly crafted and surreal landscape with is far less intriguing. After stating revenge, what the women get up to is silly and seems like it might be seen in any Netflix teen motion picture. Among the things Eleanor does is simply go to a celebration. Drea fulfills a man and engages in a romantic paint battle scene with him. These scenes made me forget I was even seeing a dark comedy.
