The Morning After: Formula E unveils the world’s most efficient race car

Formula E formally unveiled its Gen3 vehicle the other day, ahead of this weekends Monaco E-Prix. There are some huge power and performance modifications coming when the new automobiles hit the track next season. Much of the concentrate on Gen3 has been the massive upgrades to efficiency, but the automobile also sports a new general body design.

Wheel covers are gone, making the new model more of a real open-wheel automobile, and there are no wings over the rear wheels. Rather, the Gen3 has two jet-like fins on the back, with the brand-new aerodynamic shape inspired by fighter airplane– an F-18 on wheels.
