Westworld Season 4, Episode 2 Recap: Meet Delos’ Newest Theme Park – CNET

We understand Dolores wouldnt jibe with that kind of surveillance.I lost it at Host William playing golf in head-to-toe black. This episode confirms that Christina wrote a video game character with a strangely similar life story to Peters. At the end of last season, he accessed the Sublime/Valley Beyond, the place where Maeves daughter and other hosts exist. Heres more on that and whatever else that taken place in season 3 of Westworld.

We pretty much knew this currently– the end credits of last season revealed Hale developing hosts and exposed a variation of William who answers to her– however episode 2 gets Maeve and Caleb up to speed on Charlores involvement. It turns out group Hale replaced California Senator Ken Whitney and his better half, Anastasia, with host versions, eliminating the real senator and appointing a different gruesome fate to Anastasia. Another reveal: The host variation of Ken Whitney, who calls himself “an emissary of the new world order,” states there are 249 others like him.Im not digging the soulless William copy working for Chalores … #NotmyWilliam.

Group Hales subduing of prominent individuals does not stop with Whitney. Later in episode 2, the vice president convenes with host William at a golf course. Their conversation is cryptic, however it appears like William is attempting to get his park company going again after the Westworld massacre, and the VP isnt jazzed about the concept. (It seems Hale eliminated and replaced the senator because of a comparable obstinance.) After sinking one-too-many strangely spot-on golf shots, scaring the VP, William whacks him with a golf club.Jim Navarro, the deputy assistant chief law officer for counterterrorism, likewise attempts (unsuccessfully) to disrupt Delos. Team Chalores zip-ties him in a vehicle, and Chalores presents herself as the person running the show. She says shes preparing something for his kind, but its not to replace all people with hosts. She leaves him, and we see a fly crawl into his eye.A quick suggestion– in case you require it– of what flipped the villain switch for Chalores: In season 3, Chalores lost human Charlottes child and spouse in a fiery automobile explosion brought on by season villain Engerraund Serac (Dolores is also sort of accidentally to blame for their deaths). Chalores remains in the automobile too, however makes it through. She presently displays scars from the event on her arm, and in the season 3 finale, she tells human William its due to the fact that she wants “to keep in mind who the fuck you individuals are.” Human test subjectsChalores entourage does not eliminate real Anastasia (Senator Whitneys better half) on the spot, but her fate is arguably even worse. Chalores says Anastasia is the “ideal prospect” for a new experiment Chalores is looking into. Some time later on, Caleb and Maeve discover Anastasia in a barn … and shes slashed up a bunch of poor horses. She lunges at Caleb, requiring Maeve to shoot her. Her altered mental state kind of reminds me of what occurred to the guy from the cartel-like organization last episode. We didnt see any flies around her this time, but I would not be shocked if theyre connected to her creepy zombification? The Peter mystery deepens this episode.

William– who got his throat slit by host William in the post-credits of last season– is amazingly still alive. Real William is absolutely flawed, however his “death” last season was unsatisfying. Seeing host William this season as a soulless, pure-bred villain likewise made me miss the real thing.Oh yeah, lets talk about the scene.

The roaring 20s This episode puts Maeve and Caleb on a train headed for Delos newest destination, a theme park embeded in the 20s. (A hint remains in something host William says, “150 years back,” the world came “roaring” back after war). William invites us to “the Golden Age,” and Maeve and Caleb stroll out into a city busy with old-timey automobiles and intense lights.
